10. Fist of the North Star

Fist of the North StarSynopsis – In the year 19XX, after being betrayed and left for dead, bravehearted warrior Kenshirou wanders a post-apocalyptic wasteland on a quest to track down his rival, Shin, who has kidnapped his beloved fiancée Yuria. During his journey, Kenshirou makes use of his deadly fighting form, Hokuto Shinken, to defend the helpless from bloodthirsty ravagers. It isn’t long before his exploits begin to attract the attention of greater enemies, like warlords and rival martial artists, and Keshirou finds himself involved with more than he originally bargained for. Faced with ever-increasing odds, the successor of Hokuto Shinken is forced to put his skills to the test in an effort to take back what he cares for most. And as these new challenges present themselves and the battle against injustice intensifies, namely his conflict with Shin and the rest of the Nanto Seiken school of martial arts, Kenshirou is gradually transformed into the savior of an irradiated and violent world.

In desperation, the people of Earth establish the Earth Defense Force, their last defense against the power-hungry Gamilas Empire. However, humanity finds a glimmer of hope after receiving a message from the mysterious planet Iscandar, which offers them a device that would restore Earth to its former glory. With salvation in sight, the Earth Defense Force calls on the prolific Space Battleship Yamato and swiftly assembles a crew to make the 148,000 light-year trek to Iscandar and receive their aid.

KiteSynopsis – Sawa is a school girl, an orphan, and an assassin. She is being controlled by a corrupt cop who gives her targets to kill, detailing to her the crimes these men have committed in order to justify their death. Some of his power over Sawa has to do with her deceased parents and the promise of revenge. When another orphan, a teenage boy called Oburi, is brought in to assist Sawa, the two teenage killers form a bond of sorts. As they heal each other’s emotional wounds, they begin to dream of a life that would not be spent under the shadows of murder.

7. Nana 2

Nana 2Synopsis – Taking place shortly after the end of the first film, Nana 2 focuses more on Komatsu Nana (Hachi/Hachiko) and her love life. Romance develops between Hachi and TRAPNEST’s bassist Takumi as well as with the Black Stones’ guitarist Nobu. Meanwhile, Nana works hard for her band while trying to find happiness. 6. Parasyte Movie

Parasyte MovieSynopsis – Mysterious aliens called “Parasites” suddenly begin their invasion when some of them infect humans by entering their brain. One of them attempts to enter the brain of high school student Shinichi Izumi, but resorts to infecting his right hand after failing to bypass his headphones. Thanks to this way of entry, Shinichi retains his human consciousness, unlike the other victims. After his initial shock, Shinichi befriends the parasite and names him “Migi” (Japanese for “right”).

DevilmanSynopsis – Devilman features Akira Fudo, a shy and timid teenager who has gone mountain climbing in the Himalayas with his father. While in the middle of the expedition, both father and son are killed in a tragic accident. Akira’s body is found and possessed by the demon soldier Devilman, who uses his new human form as a disguise in order to fulfill his mission of causing chaos on Earth in order to pave the way for a demonic invasion of the planet. Before his mission can begin in earnest, Devilman meets Akira’s childhood friend Miki Makimura and quickly falls in love with her. Devilman resolves to protect Miki and humanity as a whole by battling against his fellow demons. Demon Tribe leader Zennon becomes greatly angered at Devilman’s betrayal and is quick to send Devilman’s former comrades to destroy him. The other demons soon learn that Miki is precious to Devilman and he must now work to protect her, as well as protect himself. Will the power of love be able to overcome that of true evil?

Speed RaceSynopsis – Speed Racer is an 18-year-old whose life and love has always been automobile racing. His parents Pops and Mom run the independent Racer Motors, in which his brother Spritle and his pet monkey Chim Chim, his mechanic Sparky and his girlfriend Trixie are also involved. As a child Speed idolized his record-setting older brother, Rex Racer, who was apparently killed while racing in the Casa Cristo 5000 (AKA The Crucible) a deadly cross-country racing rally. Now embarking on his own career, Speed is quickly sweeping the racing world with his skill behind the wheel of his brother’s Mach 5 and his own T-180 car the Mach 6, although primarily interested in the art of the race and the well-being of his family.

3. Black Butler

Black ButlerSynopsis – The film is set in a parallel, quasi-Edwardian history. The world contains two major powers: the West, ruled by the Queen, and the East. The Queen manipulates events worldwide using operatives called the Queen’s Watchdogs. The film’s protagonist, Earl Kiyoharu Genpou (replacing Ciel Phantomhive from the anime), is a Queen’s Watchdog in an unnamed Eastern metropolis.

Ouran High School Host Club movieSynopsis – Following the events of the TV series, Haruhi Fujioka, a brilliant student from a middle-class family, continues to attend the prestigious Ouran High School and work in its Host Club, composed of six handsome boys: the hyperactive Tamaki Suou, sneaky Kyoya Ootori, playful twins Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin, cutesy Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka, and quiet Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka, who service its female customers through flirting, which she agrees to do to pay for accidentally breaking the club’s priceless Ming vase. Having spent her first year in the club, Haruhi becomes accustomed to the boys and is especially flustered when she comes face to face with Tamaki; she later learns from a romance magazine given to her by the creepy occultist Umehito Nekozawa that she has in fact fallen in love with him.

However, Piccolo breaks free and with his ninja henchwoman Mai, begins to search for the seven Dragonballs killing anyone in his path. On his eighteenth birthday, high school student and martial artist Son Goku is given the four-star Dragonball by his grandfather, Grandpa Gohan. Returning home from a party hosted by his crush Chi-Chi, Goku finds his home destroyed and his grandfather near death after Piccolo’s failed attempt to acquire the Dragonball. Before he dies, Gohan tells Goku to seek out martial arts master Muten Roshi, who holds another one of the Dragonballs. Along the way, Goku meets Bulma of the Capsule Corporation, who was studying the five-star Dragonball until it was stolen by Mai. Goku offers Bulma his protection in exchange for her help in finding Roshi. Under Roshi’s wing, Goku begins training his ki, knowing that they must get all the Dragonballs before the next solar eclipse, when Ōzaru will return and join forces with Piccolo.
