Mr. Tonegawa: Middle Management Blues is a spin-off of the Kaiji series. Tonegawa, the right hand man of Kazutaka Hyoudou, the president of the Teiai Corporation and owner of numerous gambling tournaments. Tonegawa is ordered by Hyoudou to organize a so called “game of death” as it is his and his subordinate’s job to keep the president entertained. only to encounter a barrage of challenges from the erratic president and his disloyal subordinate’s, ultimately leading to his demotion.

Adaptation
Chuukan Kanriroku Tonegawa (Middle Manager Tonegawa), based on a manga by Nobuyuki Fukumoto & Tensei Hagiwara (story) and Tomoki Miyoshi & Tomohiro Hashimoto (art). The manga started serialization in 2015 in Kodansha’s Monthly Young Magazine and is a spin-off of Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji that makes Yukio Tonegawa into the main character. So far there have been 6 volumes released and the series ranked first place in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2017 (This Manga is Amazing!) ranking in the Men’s category. It has also been decided that future chapters will be released on Kodansha’s manga app Comic Days from 5 March 2018.
