10. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru.

Synopsis – Hachiman Hikigaya is an apathetic high school student with narcissistic and semi-nihilistic tendencies. He firmly believes that joyful youth is nothing but a farce, and everyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves.

In a novel punishment for writing an essay mocking modern social relationships, Hachiman’s teacher forces him to join the Volunteer Service Club, a club that aims to extend a helping hand to any student who seeks their support in achieving their goals. With the only other club member being the beautiful ice queen Yukino Yukinoshita, Hachiman finds himself on the front line of other people’s problems—a place he never dreamed he would be. As Hachiman and Yukino use their wits to solve many students’ problems, will Hachiman’s rotten view of society prove to be a hindrance or a tool he can use to his advantage?

Similarity –In both series, they take place at a local high school setting. But more importantly, there is a club where friends gather and conduct daily activities.

The main male protagonist in both series are not similar but they do have a way to present their thoughts to others in a not so typical fashion. On the other hand, the main female MC in both series is independent and has a cool aura around them.

Both series also has a lot of comedy, drama, catchy dialogues, and hints of a little romance between two of the main characters.

9. Gintama

Synopsis – After a one-year hiatus, Shinpachi Shimura returns to Edo, only to stumble upon a shocking surprise: Gintoki and Kagura, his fellow Yorozuya members, have become completely different characters! Fleeing from the Yorozuya headquarters in confusion, Shinpachi finds that all the denizens of Edo have undergone impossibly extreme changes, in both appearance and personality. Most unbelievably, his sister Otae has married the Shinsengumi chief and shameless stalker Isao Kondou and is pregnant with their first child.

Bewildered, Shinpachi agrees to join the Shinsengumi at Otae and Kondou’s request and finds even more startling transformations afoot both in and out of the ranks of the organization. However, discovering that Vice Chief Toushirou Hijikata has remained unchanged, Shinpachi and his unlikely Shinsengumi ally set out to return the city of Edo to how they remember it.

With even more dirty jokes, tongue-in-cheek parodies, and shameless references, Gintama’ follows the Yorozuya team through more of their misadventures in the vibrant, alien-filled world of Edo.

Similarity – Odd jobs trio takes care of your problem, sometimes through laughing and fun and other times by tugging at your heartstrings. SKET Dance creator (Shirohara) is a former assistant of Gintama’s creator (Sorachi). It’s therefore not surprising to see Sorachi-sensei’s influence in SKET Dance. Comedy styles are similar, although Gintama takes everything up to eleven.

SKET Dance and Gintama’ also have crossover episodes.

8. Beelzebub

Synopsis –Ishiyama High is a school populated entirely by delinquents, where nonstop violence and lawlessness are the norms. However, there is one universally acknowledged rule—don’t cross first-year student Tatsumi Oga, Ishiyama’s most vicious fighter.

One day, Oga is by a riverbed when he encounters a man floating down the river. After being retrieved by Oga, the man splits down the middle to reveal a baby, which crawls onto Oga’s back and immediately forms an attachment to him. Though he doesn’t know it yet, this baby is named Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV, or “Baby Beel” for short—the son of the Demon Lord!

As if finding the future Lord of the Underworld isn’t enough, Oga is also confronted by Hildegard, Beel’s demon maid. Together they attempt to raise Baby Beel—although surrounded by juvenile delinquents and demonic powers, the two of them may be in for more of a challenge than they can imagine.

Similarity – Both of these shows are amazing. They have that special something that makes you laugh hard when it’s time to laugh and get you into the story when it’s time for some serious plot. Moreover, the tone shifts between the humor and seriousness are something that is done really well.

Furthermore, both the main characters of these respective shows are dense, yet very true to their ideals. The other set of characters are all very enjoyable. There is also great room for romance pairings for the fans to enjoy.

Both shows have nice and clean art styles and a great soundtrack. I think if you liked one

7. Kokoro Connect

Synopsis – When five students at Yamaboshi Academy realize that there are no clubs where they fit in, they band together to form the Student Cultural Society or “StuCS” for short. The club consists of Taichi Yaegashi, a hardcore wrestling fan; Iori Nagase, an indecisive optimist; Himeko Inaba, a calm computer genius; Yui Kiriyama, a petite karate practitioner; and Yoshifumi Aoki, the class clown.

One day, Aoki and Yui experience a strange incident when, without warning, they switch bodies for a short period of time. As this supernatural phenomenon continues to occur randomly amongst the five friends, they begin to realize that it is not just fun and games. Now forced to become closer than ever, they soon discover each other’s hidden secrets and emotional scars, which could end up tearing the StuCS and their friendship apart.

Similarity – -The character named Himeko from both animes (yes, both animes have a character named Himeko) have the same voice actress
-There is an arc in Sket dance and Kokoro where the main characters change of body (guy goes in girl body and girl goes in boy body)

-Both animes have sad backstories for the main characters (although Sket Dance ones are WAY SADDER)

-Both animes are focused on interactions between the main characters and how they help each other surmount life troubles

6. Cuticle Tantei Inaba

Cuticle Tantei Inaba

Synopsis – In a world where half-human, half-animal chimeras live and work alongside normal people, there are sure to be a few bad apples in the bunch. Unfortunately, half-human criminals mean non-human clues that often leave the police stumped. That’s where lone wolf detectives like Hiroshi Inaba come in. He’s literally part wolf and has the amazing ability to extract critical information just by examining or tasting a sample of someone’s hair! Of course, that ability has also resulted in Inaba having a little bit of a hair fetish, but that doesn’t seem to be a problem for his two assistants. (Well, at least the cross-dressing one isn’t complaining much.) And it’s nothing compared to the strange tastes of Inaba’s nemesis, the omnivorous (and half goat) crime boss Don Valentino, who has an appetite for green legal tender instead of tender young greens! Inaba’s sworn to cut Valentino out of the criminal flock before the Don can wolf down more ill-gotten dough, but he’s going to have to chew his way through a lot of evidence to get his goat. Can sheer dogged detective work put the baaaaad guys behind bars?

Similarity – 3 people work together to solve peoples problems.
Every episode is completely insane and you won’t be sure what’s happening half of the time.
You will always be laughing though.

5. Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!

The lazy club president constantly sleeps through activities and Collette hasn’t regularly attended club activities in quite some time. Uchimaki Subaru, despite being an exceptional artist who could win an award if he tried, is obsessed with drawing the perfect 2D wife.

Light-hearted and comedic in tone, Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru! follows Usami as she struggles to do art club-like activities, often obstructed by her motley crew of good-for-nothings and her distracting crush on Subaru.

Similarity – -School life anime that focused on a club where hilarious things happened every day.
-Romance that involves the Main Characters.
-Some characters who attracted to 2D girls. (Switch (and his friends) & Subaru).
-A minor similarity: Bossun is very skilled at drawing, just like the Art Club members in Konobi.
-If you have finished Sket Dance first, you’ll be familiar with Konobi’s opening song because it sounds quite similar with Sket Dance 5th opening song.
-And some situations where club members doing nothing.

4. Nourin

With the support of his teacher and friends, Kousaku works toward getting close to the girl of his dreams and uncovering the reason for her retirement from the entertainment industry.

Similarity – – Their jokes are almost the same
– Both Main Male Character are the same ( looks, Attitude & their jokes )
– Both Comedy & School Genre’d anime
– Story almost similar but Nourin is a little serious.
– Makes you want to watch more

3. Ouran Koukou Host Club

Synopsis – Haruhi Fujioka is a bright scholarship candidate with no rank or title to speak of—a rare species at Ouran High School, an elite academy for students of high pedigree. When she opens the door to Music Room #3 hoping to find a quiet place to study, Haruhi unexpectedly stumbles upon the Host Club. Led by the princely Tamaki, the club—whose other members include the “Shadow King” Kyouya, the mischievous Hitachiin twins, and the childlike Haninozuka “Honey” and his strong protector Mori—is where handsome boys with too much time on their hands entertain the girls in the academy.

In a frantic attempt to remove herself from the hosts, Haruhi ends up breaking a vase worth eight million yen and is forced into becoming the eccentric group’s general errand boy to repay her enormous debt. However, thanks to her convincingly masculine appearance, her naturally genial disposition toward girls, and fascinating commoner status, she is soon promoted to full-time male host and plunged headlong into a glitzy whirlwind of elaborate cosplays, rich food, and exciting shenanigans that only the immensely wealthy Ouran Host Club can pull off.

Similarity – Both main male lead (Fujisaki/Bossun & Tamaki) are somewhat similar:
-They formed a club with similar goal (Host Club has a more specific goal though).
-They like to motivate others.
-The club members respected them so much (although sometimes they make fun of them lol).
-Both extremely care about their friends.
-Both have similar personalities: (Easy going, cocky and easily irritated).
-Both like to do funny stuff which makes them look stupid.

2. Kyuukyoku Choujin R

Synopsis – The plot featured R and the Camera Club going on a stamp tour throughout Japan, with the threat of their club being closed down unless they can collect all the stamps by 6:00 PM.

Similarity – Kyoukyoku Choujin R, though not extremely similar to SKET Dance, it has many eccentric characters as its core of humor. Viewers may enjoy the silly action and the unrealistic club activities in both works, though sadly Kyuukyoku Choujin R only got an OVA and can’t play all of his strengths on the screen.

1. Seitokai no Ichizon

Synopsis – Imagine living life as the vice president of the student council, passing the days eating snacks, playing games, and bonding with a harem of beautiful girls. This is exactly the kind of life that high school student Ken Sugisaki leads, or so he thinks!

Usually, the officers of Hekiyou Academy’s student council are elected by popular vote, but an additional position is granted to the student who scores the highest on the exams. Ken, who historically has had below average grades, worked hard to improve them to be accepted into the student council, with the ultimate goal of surrounding himself with girls who fawn over him.

Unfortunately for the vice president, things do not go quite as planned. Not only do the ladies of the council continually rebuff his advances, they also prefer to focus on more important and “boring” activities, such as organizing school events and managing the other clubs. But a few minor hurdles like these won’t stop Ken from chasing after his dreams, even if they seem a bit ridiculous.

Similarity – It takes place in a school environment, where the cast is involved in a club/school activities. SKET dance is filled with comedy and parodies that you’ll enjoy. There is character development by revealing each character’s past, and how all 3 are connected and came to be… which is similar to Seitokai. So if you loved Seitokai no Ichizon then you’ll enjoy SKET Dance.
