When strange incidents begin occurring throughout the city, she finds each crime to be connected to the elusive “Level Upper,” a legendary device that allegedly increases the esper level of its user. As the situation escalates, it becomes apparent that there is more to the Level Upper than meets the eye, and that Academy City may be a far more twisted place than the glamorous utopia it appears to be.

Similarity –Both have a main character who are extremely overpowered and can beat anything no matter how strong. Their friends are also powerful and have special powers but can still be beaten. Both groups are magical in nature, though the shows are from somewhat different genres with one being more action oriented.

Some of the successful chosen ones brought back little trinkets as souvenirs. Akatsuki, on the other hand, went a different route—he brought back the defeated Dark Lord’s daughter, Miu, who is now posing as his long lost little sister!

Similarity – Both series involve a group of characters in a fantasy world where there is comedy, drama, and action. The characters themselves possesses supernatural powers that allow them to fight par-to-par with various adversaries. The series’ main protagonists is strong, independent, and a boss. Both series have various competitions that push various characters to be their best.

8. KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!

KonoSuba God’s blessing on this wonderful worldSynopsis- After dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game, high school student and recluse Kazuma Satou finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua. She provides the NEET with two options: continue on to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer’s dream—a real fantasy world! Choosing to start a new life, Kazuma is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he goes, he can choose one item of any kind to aid him in his quest, and the future hero selects Aqua. But Kazuma has made a grave mistake—Aqua is completely useless. Unfortunately, their troubles don’t end here; it turns out that living in such a world is far different from how it plays out in a game. Instead of going on a thrilling adventure, the duo must first work to pay for their living expenses. Indeed, their misfortunes have only just begun!

Similarity – Aside from having relatively lengthy titles, these two series each take place in a parallel world and are centered around the wacky adventures of a motley crew of four (one guy and three girls) aspiring to defeat a certain demon lord.

Similarity – In both shows, the kids get special powers which they use to compete against others. Both have interesting humor, lots of magic and spectacular adventure. so if you like Problem children are coming from another world, aren’t they? then I think you’ll love this.

6. Ixion Saga DT

Synopsis – The game and anime follow Kon Hokaze, a boy who embarks on a journey from our world to an alternate world known as Mira, which is full a mysterious energy known as Alma. After saving Princess Ecarlate from attackers, he soon finds himself in the middle of a struggle around Alma.

Similarity – In both series, there is a theme where a main protagonist travels to another world where his life seemingly changes forever. There is a lot of humor and fun dialogues in both series. Along with that, there’s the humor, drama, and action. In Ixion Saga DT, that action is presented in the way that is considered to be more a parody. On the other hand, Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?’s action is more serious but still maintains that fun atmosphere.
Both series also has some fun interactions between the cast members in the new world that they goes to.

5. One Punch Man

Synopsis – One-Punch Man is a superhero who has trained so hard that his hair has fallen out, and who can overcome any enemy with one punch. However, because he is so strong, he has become bored and frustrated with winning all his battles so easily. This all changes with the arrival of Genos, a 19-year-old cyborg, who wishes to be Saitama’s disciple after seeing what he is capable of. And thus begins the story of One Punch Man, an action-comedy that follows an eccentric individual who longs to fight strong enemies that can hopefully give him the excitement he once felt and just maybe, he’ll become popular in the process.

Similarity – overpowered MCs that just seek for fun.

Trapped in this strange land, Shinichi is given an unlikely task by the Japanese government: to spread otaku culture across the realm by becoming an “Otaku Missionary.” To accomplish his mission, Shinichi has the full support of the Japanese government, as well as the half-elf maid Myucel and Princess Petralka of the Eldant Empire. Together with this ragtag bunch, he will overcome the obstacles of politics, social classes, and ethnic discrimination to promote the ways of the otaku in this holy land.

Similarity – Japanese guy gets transported to another world. Both deal with themes such as racism, caste, etc. Very entertaining watches. The main characters are quite similar. They’re both op, very intelligent, smug, selfish and laid back. And good looking. The two series also share a few elements, like action, comedy, and fantasy.

3. Sword Art Online

Synopsis – The players of a virtual reality MMORPG, Sword Art Online, are trapped and fighting for their very lives. After it is announced that the only way to leave the game is by beating it, Kirito—a very powerful swordsman—and his friends take on a quest to free all the minds trapped in Aincrad. Sword Art Online is not all fun and games: if they die in Aincrad, they die in real life. Kirito must adapt to his new reality, fight for his survival, and hopefully break free from his virtual hell.

Similarity – Both are about an overpowered protagonist that finds himself in another world. In SAO, the protagonist is stuck in the other world, while in Mondaiji, the protagonist is bored and stays in the world and somehow has superpowers.

2. Dog Days

Dog DaysSynopsis – Dog Days takes place in the world of Flonyard, an alternate Earth inhabited by beings who resemble humans, but also have the ears and tails of specific animals. The Republic of Biscotti, a union of dog-like citizens, has come under attack by the feline forces of the Galette Leo Knights. In an effort to save Biscotti, Princess Millhiore summons a champion from another world in order to defend her people. That champion is Cinque Izumi, a normal junior high student from Earth.

Similarity – The first thing that came into my mind after seeing Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? was dog days. Both are fantasy anime in which the hero is invited to another world for participating in a game.

No game no LifeSynopsis – The mysterious god welcomes Sora and Shiro to Disboard, a world where all forms of conflict—from petty squabbles to the fate of whole countries—are settled not through war, but by way of high-stake games. This system works thanks to a fundamental rule wherein each party must wager something they deem to be of equal value to the other party’s wager. In this strange land where the very idea of humanity is reduced to child’s play, the indifferent genius gamer duo of Sora and Shiro have finally found a real reason to keep playing games: to unite the sixteen races of Disboard, defeat Tet, and become the gods of this new, gaming-is-everything world.

Similarity – Both involve cool/ badass/ OP main characters who find their world boring.
– Both are magic, fantasy anime.
– Both anime involve characters who are thrown into another world.
– Both are visually impressive.
– Most importantly, both have a main concept which revolves around playing games.
