10. Kämpfer

KampferSynopsis – Waking up transformed into a beautiful girl might be the stuff of some guys’ fantasies, but when the suddenly effeminatized Natsuru is informed by a stuffed tiger that he’s now a Kampfer, a mystical fighter who has to fight other Kampfers in female form, his life becomes a living nightmare. Putting aside the obvious “plumbing” issues, Natsuru’s best childhood friend turns out to swing the other way and SHE has a crush on his new female body. Not complex enough? Natsuru’s school has separate sections for boys and girls, so he and she are now double enrolled. The rumor-mill has it that he’s dating herself. Oh, and did we mention that some Kampfers use swords and guns?! Hormones, fists, and other body parts will fly as the daring, new gender-bender defender must become a contender or die!

Similarity – Kampfer follows a male character who turned female when he was contracted as a Kampfer. Infinite Stratos, follows the character who studies at a school filled with an all-female cast, using IS as a fighting combat. The male main character has the same powers as the girls for some apparent reason and a lot of the voice actors are the same.

9. Busou Shinki: Armored War Goddess

Busou Shinki Armored War GoddessSynopsis – In the future world, robots are part of everyday life, and they contribute in various aspects of society. “Shinki” are 15-centimeter-tall (about 6-inch-tall) cute partners made to assist humans. Equipped with intelligence and emotions, they devote themselves to serving their “Masters.” These Shinki can even be equipped with weapons and armor to fight each other. Such Shinki are named “Busou Shinki” (literally, “armed divine princesses”). In particular, the Shinki Ann (Arnval), Aines (Altines), and Lene (Altlene) serve a high school freshman named Masato. Things change when a new Shinki, the bellicose Strarf, joins them.

Similarity – Similar wise for these two shows, it features an almost female cast, (one main male character,) that controls an aerial mechanic dogfight machine throughout the series. Some are lighthearted, some are serious moments but most of it are action scenes. Busou Shinki, follows a group of female character, who are small size toys fighters, and addressed the male character as their master. IS follows a male character who is surrounded by an all-female class in a school and uses an IS to fight.

8. Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia (Masou Gakuen HxH)

Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia (Masou Gakuen HxH)Synopsis – Hida Kizuna possesses the HHG (Heart Hybrid Gear) ability, but it is not strong enough to make him particularly important. His older sister calls him to transfer to a strategic defense school, where many of the students (many of which are large-breasted girls) use their HHG abilities to fight invaders from another world while wearing extremely skimpy pilot outfits. Kizuna’s fighting ability doesn’t measure up, but his sister has another plan—apparently having erotic experiences with Kizuna will allow the girls to replenish their energy or power-up. It looks like his new school life is going to be full of embarrassment.

Similarity – Both animes have a protagonist who is a new transferred student; inevitably, the harem begins to form. Both anime contain beautiful girls flying around with a high tech suit and all of the girls love the main character and wil fight for him. Infinite Stratos and Heart Hybrid Gear are very similar and ecchi moments often appear. Very much the same.

7. Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle (Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut)

Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle (Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut)Synopsis – Lux, a former prince of an empire named Arcadia that was overthrown via a rebellion five years earlier, accidentally trespasses in a female dormitory’s bathing area, sees the kingdom’s new princess Lisesharte naked, incurring her wrath. Lisesharte then challenges Lux to a Drag-Ride duel. Drag-Rides are ancient armored mechanical weapons that have been excavated from ruins all around the world. Lux used to be called the strongest Drag-Knight, but now he’s known as the “undefeated weakest” Drag-Knight because he will absolutely not attack in battle. After his duel with Lisesharte, Lux ends up attending the female-only academy that trains royals to be Drag-Knights.

Similarity – If you like mecha related battles with flying battle suits and lasers guns and of course we can’t forget the pretty girls. You will like IS: Infinite Stratos. Since its pretty much just like Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut although it dosn’t have as much Dragons and stuff. its less supernatural and more Tech.

6. Hundred

hundredSynopsis – When an extraterrestrial organism known as “Savage” attacks mankind, the only technology capable of combating the enemy is a weapon known as “Hundred.” A survivor of a Savage attack, Hayato Kisaragi is a teenager boasting the highest compatibility level with the aforementioned technology and as a result, is invited to master his skills at Little Garden, a prestigious military academy aboard a battleship. Over the course of his intense training for the battle ahead, he immediately attracts the interest of multiple female peers and gets drawn into a number of incidents as he tries to fight against the creatures that now inhabit Earth and threaten its safety.

Similarity – They both contain a romantically clueless main character surrounded by women with similiar archetypes that all fall in love with him. Each anime also takes place at a school specifically designed to teach students how to use identicle exoskeleton weapon systems with the main character having a high affinity for the weapon system, which makes him the best “pilot” even without any combat experience whatsoever.

5. Blade Dance of the Elementalers (Seireitsukai no Blade Dance)

Blade Dance of the Elementalers (Seireitsukai no Blade Dance)Synopsis – Seireitsukai no Blade Dance takes place at a very prestigious school for holy shrine princesses called Areishia Spirit Academy. At this school, the girls train to be elementalists and try to form slave contracts with spirits so that they can compete in battles against one another. Only females have this privilege… at least until now. Kamito Kazehaya is a normal guy in pretty much all respects except for the fact that he’s the first man in 1,000 years to be able to form a contract with a spirit. With Claire demanding that he become her contracted spirit, will Kamito even manage to survive the entire two months until the tournament takes place?

Similarity – Both shows are harems where the lead male has a power that only females are supposed to have. In the case of IS, it is the ability to pilot a specialized mecha, and in the case of Blade Dance, it is the ability to contract spirits. In both cases, the lead male is forcefully enrolled into an all-girls academy.

4. Freezing

FreezingSynopsis – Decades into the future, humanity is under siege by an alien race known as the Novas. These inhuman beings leave devastation in their wake whenever they appear, with the efforts to stave them off becoming known as Nova Clashes. Young women known as “Pandoras” and young men known as “Limiters” are implanted with stigmata to give them superhuman powers and are trained in military academies, where they must learn to work together if humanity is to have a chance of surviving.

Similarity – Both have an international cast of large chested bishoujo who come from all kind of different countries. These women fight using technologies only women can use and summon some kind of armor and weapons. In IS women become some kind of mecha; while in Freezing women wear paper-thin clothing and mainly melee weapons. Also, both anime are Harem.

3. Aria the Scarlet Ammo (Hidan no Aria)

Aria The AnimationSynopsis – In response to the worsening crime rate, Japan creates Tokyo Butei High, an elite academy where “Butei” or armed detectives hone their deadly skills in hopes of becoming mercenary-like agents of justice. One particular Butei is Kinji Tooyama, an anti-social and curt sophomore dropout who was once a student of the combat-centric Assault Division. Kinji now lives a life of leisure studying logistics in order to cover up his powerful but embarrassing special ability. However, his peaceful days soon come to an end when he becomes the target of the infamous “Butei Killer,” and runs into an emotional hurricane and outspoken prodigy of the highest rank, Aria Holmes Kanzaki, who saves Kinji’s life and demands that he become her partner after seeing what he is truly capable of.

Similarity – Firstly they are both set in a school which trains students for combat. They are both harems which end up having the female characters fighting over the male lead. This is more apparent in Infinite Stratos. Also, the lead male character in both shows has a similar design. If you Enjoyed one, you will definitely enjoy the other.

2. Strike Witches

Strike WitchesSynopsis – Strike Witches is set in an alternate version of 1944, where the events of World War II are very different than what we know to be true. Alien invaders known as the Neuroi came to Earth in 1939. This is not the first appearance of the Neuroi as they have appeared at seemingly random intervals throughout human history. While the Neuroi primarily attack humanity using aircrafts, their mothership is able to produce a deadly miasma, a chemical that is fatally poisonous to humans, forcing the populations of affected areas to flee their homes. The Neuroi then use the poisoned areas to plunder Earth’s natural resources to use against humanity. Luckily the miasma cannot spread across water, making the ocean humanity’s main line of defense against the Neuroi.

Similarity – If you observe properly, you would notice that the countries where the main characters came from are just the same. And you could also compare Laura Bodewig to Sakamoto Mio and also the fact that only girls can use the Striker unit/IS (Infinite Stratos) except that a man could use the IS.

1. Date A Live

Date A LiveSynopsis – Thirty years before strange phenomena called a “spacequake” devastated the center of Eurasia, claiming the lives of at least 150 million people. Since then, smaller spacequakes plague the world on an irregular basis. Shidō Itsuka, a seemingly ordinary high schooler comes across a mysterious girl at the ground zero of a spacequake and learns from his sister Kotori she is one of the “Spirits” who are the real cause of the spacequakes that occur when they manifest themselves in the world. He also learns that Kotori is the captain of the airship Ratatoskr and recruits him to make use of his mysterious ability to seal the Spirits’ powers and stop them from being a threat to mankind. However, there is a catch: to seal a Spirit, he must make her fall in love with him.

Similarity – In both series, the female characters are the dominant characters as they take the skies and brings about the action with their abilities. The main male protagonist gets acquainted with these characters as some of them develop feelings for him. There is fan service in both series along with some drama, action, and comedy. Romance is obvious between the main male and female character in both series. They also take place at a school life setting
