10. Black Clover

Black CloverSynopsis – Asta is a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the kingdom. He only has one problem, he can’t use magic. Luckily for Asta, he receives the incredibly rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him the power of anti-magic. Even though he can’t use magic, he plans to become the Wizard King.

Similarity – If you’ve seen both then it’s obvious that Black Clover – art, characters, voice actors, story, setting, magic, humor style is almost completely parallel, isn’t it? Asta and Natsu – crazy wild looking shounen, always screaming and reckless, initially sucks at what they do but determined to get stronger. They join similar organizations – black bulls/fairy tail, both kinda carefree with dynamic characters

9. Log Horizon

log horizonSynopsis – Elder Tales is an online fantasy RPG that has become popular worldwide. But when its twelfth expansion package, “Cultivate the Noosphere,” is installed, thirty thousand players in Japan are trapped inside. Among them is grad student Shiroe, who isn’t very good at interacting with others. But to survive in a world full of monsters, he forms a guild called “Log Horizon” with an eclectic group of other players.

log horizonSimilarity – These two anime have similar graphics and music. I think the characters are better in Log Horizon because they’re more mature and clever. The story and the feeling are both better in Log Horizon, too. If you liked Fairy Tail, you will surely like this anime. It’s a bit more mature and enjoyable than the similar shounen, especially endless shounen like Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, Fairy Tail, etc.

8. Bleach

BleachSynopsis – Ichigo Kurosaki is an ordinary high schooler—until his family is attacked by a Hollow, a corrupt spirit that seeks to devour human souls. It is then that he meets a Soul Reaper named Rukia Kuchiki, who gets injured while protecting Ichigo’s family from the assailant. To save his family, Ichigo accepts Rukia’s offer of taking her powers and becomes a Soul Reaper as a result. As Ichigo and his comrades get used to their new duties and support each other on and off the battlefield, the young Soul Reaper soon learns that the Hollows are not the only real threat to the human world.

Similarity – Bleach and Fairy Tail are both action packed but with a bit of humor slipped in. With pretty much unstoppable heroes the action is constant and both stories could seemingly go on forever. Both heroes travel and fight with groups and have a close feeling of comradery for the group members.

7. Naruto

NarutoSynopsis – Moments prior to Naruto Uzumaki’s birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-Tailed Fox, attacked Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the Kyuubi’s rampage, the leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto.
Now, Naruto is a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja still living in Konohagakure. Shunned because of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village, while his burning desire to become the Hokage of Konohagakure leads him not only to some great new friends but also some deadly foes.

Similarity – When I first started to watch fairy tail it reminded me so much of both Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden, the coolest thing about is that every character resembled a character off of Naruto, for example, Nastu would be Naruto, gray would Sasuke, Lucy would be Sakura and so on, and they both hold a lot of suspense so if you like fairy tail you are definitely going to like naruto

6. D.Gray-man

DGray man
Synopsis – Allen Walker, a young man with a cursed eye, lives to destroy a weapon known as Akuma. These weapons created by the Millennium Earl are sent out by his command to purge the world from humans. Allen Walker uses an anti-Akuma weapon, Innocence, to counter the Earl’s attempts at destroying humanity. He travels to the Black Order by his mentor’s directions. There he meets with others who also fight against the Millennium Earl’s plans. But more questions start to appear as Allen and his friends move further along to reach their goal. And these questions that seem to connect to Allen’s past.

Similarity – D.Gray-man Follows Fairy Tail’s theme of people gaining supernatural powers, joining an organization and using that power to assist others (Killing demons to protect humanity, in D.Gray-man’s case). D.Gray-man uses the same shounen formula present in Fairy Tail, except takes up the plot on a much more “epic” scale

5. Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter
Synopsis – Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss one day discovers that the father he had always been told was dead was alive and well. His Father, Ging, is a Hunter—a member of society’s elite with a license to go anywhere or do almost anything. Gon, determined to follow in his father’s footsteps, decides to take the Hunter Examination and eventually find his father to prove himself as a Hunter in his own right. But on the way, he learns that there is more to becoming a Hunter than previously thought, and the challenges that he must face are considered the toughest in the world.

Similarity – Bright colors, rich character designs in both how the characters look and act, not to mention a fantastical adventure to hunt down stuff. One series is darker “Hunter x Hunter”, and the other has a more comical side, “Fairy Tail”, but they both cross to the other side at moments.

4. Nanatsu no Taizai (The Seven Deadly Sins)

Nanatsu no Taizai (The Seven Deadly Sins)
Synopsis – In a world where humans and non-humans have not yet been separated, the kingdom of Leones is protected by the Holy Knights, powerful magic users both revered and feared by the people. Supposedly the strongest, most fearsome of these knights, the Seven Deadly Sins, betrayed the kingdom and made enemies of all the other knights. Queen Elizabeth doesn’t believe this story, and sets out to find the Sins – but when she meets the first Sin at a tavern, his name is Melodias, and he’s nothing but a boy in charge of the pigs.

Similarity – The similarity between the two includes each character has their own unique personality and ability that makes them strong. They also value their bond, and also Fairy Tail recruits members into their guild through adventures/quests they accept, so it’s essentially the same as Meliodas looking for his friends from the Seven Deadly Sins.

3. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

Magi The Labyrinth of Magic
Synopsis – In a fantastic middle-age world where slavery is very common, there are mysterious tall towers named “Dungeon” which mysteriously appeared out of nowhere fourteen years before the storyline. Someone who conquers a Dungeon becomes very powerful and wealthy.
Our hero Ali Baba is a teenager who works for merchants to support himself. He dreams of conquering a lot of Dungeons and becoming a very rich person. One day, he comes across with a strange young boy named Aladdin who carries a mystical flute with supernatural powers in it. Ali Baba and Aladdin agree to travel their first Dungeon together.

Similarity – Both have a huge aspect of magic and fight for/with friends. There are similar character personalities. They both have action/fighting, contain sad pasts, and are adventure-filled. Both are filled with comedy, but they can also be serious sometimes. Both also have small romance factors in it (hinted feelings or confessions).

2. Soul Eater

Soul EaterSynopsis – Soul Eater Evans, a Demon Scythe who only seems to care about what’s cool, aims to become a Death Scythe with the help of his straight-laced wielder, or meister, Maka Albarn. The contrasting duo work and study alongside the hot-headed Black☆Star and his caring weapon Tsubaki, as well as the Shinigami’s own son, Death the Kid, an obsessive-compulsive dual wielder of twin pistols Patty and Liz.
Soul Eater follows these students of Shibusen as they take on missions to collect souls and protect the city from the world’s threats while working together under the snickering sun to become sounder in mind, body, and soul.

Similarity – The simple yet colorful and appealing art style is what really draws these two together. Both also have fantastic stories and a menagerie of characters that are easy to fall in love with. They both utilize fanservice in a tasteful and humorous way, but also have their touching moments. If you like one, you’re sure to like the other.

1. One Piece

one pieceSynopsis – Before he was executed, the legendary Pirate King Gold Roger revealed that he had hidden the treasure One Piece somewhere in the Grand Line. Now, many pirates are off looking for this legendary treasure to claim the title Pirate King. One pirate, Monkey D. Luffy, is a boy who had eaten the Devil’s Fruit and gained rubber powers. Now he and his crew are off to find One Piece while battling enemies and making new friends along the way.

Similarity – First off, both are based on long shounen manga series, so they follow a bunch of story arcs in addition to the main goal. The art styles are quite similar, with characters looking very lanky and lots of wild and colorful animations. Both also have a general theme of friends/teamwork/nakama, with the main teams of the series (Team Natsu for Fairy Tail, Strawhats for One Piece) always working with and fighting for each other.
