2. Naruto: Shippuuden
Synopsis – Yoshimura Sumimura comes from a long line of “Kekkaishi,” individuals who have supernatural abilities and are able to destroy evil creatures called Ayakashi that venture into the human realm from time to time. The Ayakashi are demons that look to feast on the power emanating from the land of Karasumori, which also happens to be where Yoshimura’s high school is located. Now, Yoshimura must fight to protect his beloved school and hometown. Although, if it were up to him, he would rather be baking cakes than fighting off the ugly characters that show up at night.
Thankfully, Yoshimura isn’t the only one helping to keep the baddies at bay. His childhood friend and neighbor, Tokine Yukimura, joins him in this righteous battle. Despite the fact that they are from rival clans, these two make a fantastic team. And teamwork is something vital to fighting the evil that is closing in, as the Ayakashi attack in waves, looking to claim the land as their own, and a shadowy organization looks on, ready to pounce when the time is right…
Similarity –Both the anime is very similar, Ichigo and Yoshimori discovering their powers, first the two girls Rukia and Tokine behind them is stronger, after which time they are becoming stronger and wants to protect all to them precious, and others. both anime have many different type spirits ( evil, good…) Both protagonists helping spirits, normal people don’t see them. The man character in kekkaishi have Sumimura family’s demon dog and in bleach special type of soul, pill called a “modified soul” or “ModSoul. Both anime very funny and sometimes sad, animation in both very good, the plot is little different. Ishigo ( shinigami) Yoshimori ( Kekkaishi).
9. World Trigger
Synopsis – When a gate to another world suddenly opens on Earth, Mikado City is invaded by strange creatures known as “Neighbors,” malicious beings impervious to traditional weaponry. In response to their arrival, an organization called the Border Defense Agency has been established to combat the Neighbor menace through special weapons called “Triggers.” Even though several years have passed after the gate first opened, Neighbors are still a threat and members of Border remain on guard to ensure the safety of the planet.
Despite this delicate situation, members-in-training, such as Osamu Mikumo, are not permitted to use their Triggers outside of headquarters. But when the mysterious new student in his class is dragged into a forbidden area by bullies, they are attacked by Neighbors, and Osamu has no choice but to do what he believes is right. Much to his surprise, however, the transfer student Yuuma Kuga makes short work of the aliens, revealing that he is a humanoid Neighbor in disguise.
Similarity – Similar in many ways:
Hollow = Trion Soldiers
Arrancar = Neighbor
Seireitei = Border
The only major difference is Bleach have only 1 protagonist(Ichigo) while World Trigger has 2 protagonists(Yuma and Osamu/dual protagonist sort of thing)
Synopsis- Ishiyama High is a school populated entirely by delinquents, where nonstop violence and lawlessness are the norms. However, there is one universally acknowledged rule—don’t cross first-year student Tatsumi Oga, Ishiyama’s most vicious fighter.
One day, Oga is by a riverbed when he encounters a man floating down the river. After being retrieved by Oga, the man splits down the middle to reveal a baby, which crawls onto Oga’s back and immediately forms an attachment to him. Though he doesn’t know it yet, this baby is named Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV, or “Baby Beel” for short—the son of the Demon Lord!
As if finding the future Lord of the Underworld isn’t enough, Oga is also confronted by Hildegard, Beel’s demon maid. Together they attempt to raise Baby Beel—although surrounded by juvenile delinquents and demonic powers, the two of them may be in for more of a challenge than they can imagine.
Similarity – both featured a tough guy who meets the girl from another world and after that gets supernatural power. through the story, he meets a new friend which also very similar to the horny lion or a shy girl who love the main character. sometimes even story will make you say “wow! this is just like Bleach! :D” but with all these similarities Beelzebub feels more like a comedy than a fighting anime.
Synopsis – Yato is a minor deity who lacks even a single shrine. In order to build his own shrine, he scrawls his cell number on the wall of a downtown bathroom telling people he will help them in exchange for a 5-yen offering, becoming a self-styled “delivery god.” Hiyori, the daughter of a respectable family, is almost killed in a traffic accident but is rescued by Yato. This causes her to become a “hanyou,” a person who can easily lose her soul. She chases Yato down, and they begin to work together. Yato also finds a boy named Yukine who becomes a “sacred treasure” that can be used by a god. The three of them battle “you” who bring harm to humans as Yato’s hidden history is gradually revealed.
Similarity – Noragami is like Bleach without all the fillers. The main characters meet in a similar way, one of them (Ichigo/Hiyori) gets a power thanks to the other one (Rukia/Yato). In both animes, they fight against ghosts/monsters and there are more characters that come from a different world where it’s quite normal to have the powers to see (and fight) those monsters.
Synopsis – When a shapeshifting demon with a thirst for human flesh, known as “youma,” arrives in Raki’s village, a lone woman with silver eyes walks into town with only a sword upon her back. She is a “Claymore,” a being manufactured as half-human and half-youma, for the express purpose of exterminating these monsters. After Raki’s family is killed, the Claymore saves his life, but he is subsequently banished from his home. With nowhere else to go, Raki finds the Claymore, known as Clare, and decides to follow her on her journeys.
As the pair travel from town to town, defeating youma along the way, more about Clare’s organization and her fellow warriors comes to light. With every town cleansed and every demon destroyed, they come closer to the youma on which Clare has sought vengeance ever since she chose to become a Claymore.
Similarity – While Claymore contains a dark and serious nature in contrast to Bleach’s senseless humor and hyperactive action, fans of one would most likely enjoy the other. An organization of sword-wielders, where warriors have varying techniques and ranks, is the major similarity between the two.
5. Busou Renkin
Synopsis –The story begins when high school student Kazuki Muto is killed one night saving a mysterious girl from a monster, only to wake up in his school dorm, believing it to have been a dream; however, he soon finds out that dream wasn’t a dream at all when a giant serpentine monster attacks him and his sister. Tokiko Tsumura, the girl he saved, explains that the monster is a homunculus. Kazuki had been attacked and killed by it when he was rescuing her; however, she, feeling responsible for him, revived him by placing a Kakugane medallion in his chest, serving as a replacement heart.
The Kakugane, as Tokiko explains, is an alchemical device that, when activated, takes a certain form based on the Kakugane’s user, forming a unique Buso Renkin. The Buso Renkin is the only thing that can destroy a homunculus monster. Using this, Kazuki creates his own Buso Renkin (the “Sunlight Heart,” a huge lance). Along with Tokiko and her own Buso Renkin (the “Valkyrie Skirt,” an execution scythe), Kazuki joins the fight against the homunculi and their master.
Similarity – Both these animes deal with a dude with spiritual powers and use big huge swords to battle demons, ghosts, Shinigami or homunculus,Kurosaki Ichigo battles demons while Kazuki Muto battles homunculus
Synopsis – Allen Walker, a young man with a cursed eye, lives to destroy a weapon known as Akuma. These weapons created by the Milleneum Earl are sent out by his command to purge the world from humans. Allen Walker uses an anti-akuma weapon, Innocence, to counter the Earl’s attempts at destroying humanity. He travels to the Black Order by his mentor’s directions. There he meets with others who also fight against the Milleneum Earl’s plans. But more questions start to appear as Allen and his friends move further along to reach their goal. And these questions that seem to connect to Allen’s past.
Similarity – Both are action/shonen series, with a group of good guys slowly fighting their way through the ranks of the bad guys, powering up in the process. While D.Gray-Man is often more serious than Bleach, they both have their moments of comedy to lighten up the mood when needed. Also, >100 % synch rate = bankai all the way.
3. Soul Eater
Synopsis – The “Death Weapon Meister Academy”, the series revolves around three teams, each consisting of a weapon meister and (at least one) weapon that can transform into a humanoid. Trying to make the latter a “death scythe” and thus fit for use by the academy’s headmaster Shinigami, the personification of death, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch, in that order; otherwise, they will have to start all over again.
Similarity – Similar setting as soul eater: Shinigami fighting monsters who feed of human souls. Comedy, action, and romance elements are also present in both series. The animation style is different though, soul eater has cartoonesk elements while bleach has a more common animation style
2. Naruto: Shippuuden
Synopsis – It has been two and a half years since Naruto Uzumaki left Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, for intense training following events which fueled his desire to be stronger. Now Akatsuki, the mysterious organization of elite rogue ninja, is closing in on their grand plan which may threaten the safety of the entire shinobi world.
Although Naruto is older and sinister events loom on the horizon, he has changed little in personality—still rambunctious and childish—though he is now far more confident and possesses an even greater determination to protect his friends and home. Come whatever may, Naruto will carry on with the fight for what is important to him, even at the expense of his own body, in the continuation of the saga about the boy who wishes to become Hokage.
Similarity – Naruto, and Bleach both are action animes. when you hear bleach the next anime that you would think of would be Naruto… if you like it that is. they both are epic anime with outstanding character development and plots so intricate you might would who were the brilliant minds to think of this (I did anyway…) also there is some comic relief, a little bit of romance, and tons of serious parts too. and they’re great for anyone
Synopsis – One fateful day, Yuusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent with a dim future, gets a miraculous chance to turn it all around when he throws himself in front of a moving car to save a young boy. His ultimate sacrifice is so out of character that the authorities of the spirit realm are not yet prepared to let him pass on. Koenma, the heir to the throne of the spirit realm, offers Yuusuke an opportunity to regain his life through completion of a series of tasks. With the guidance of the death god Botan, he is to thwart evil presences on Earth as a Spirit Detective.
To help him on his venture, Yuusuke enlists ex-rival Kazuma Kuwabara, and two demons, Hiei and Kurama, who have criminal pasts. Together, they train and battle against enemies who would threaten humanity’s very existence.
Similarity – Both have tough, bad boy exterior that they portray at school. Also like Ichigo, Yusuke gets paranormal abilities and somehow gets involved of an alternate world to help save this world from the probable evil with the help of their friends sharing unique paranormal abilities that fit their talents. And as a sidenote, there is shinigamis in both series.
