Without a single shrine dedicated to his name, however, his goals are far from being realized. He spends his days doing odd jobs for five yen apiece, until his weapon partner becomes fed up with her useless master and deserts him. The plot isn’t straightforward. Mahiro Fuwa saw Aika’s sudden death, He sworn revenge for her. Yoshino Takigawa is Mahiro’s best friend. He cooperates Mahiro because he also Aika’s friend. Subsequently to their incident, Noragami’s pattern is just the same. Yato meets Hiyori Iki in a certain event. In addition to named boy Yukine, They act for many problem resolution.

9. 91 Days

Anime Like 91 DaysSynopsis – During the Prohibition era, in the Lawless district the law has no power, the mafia rule the streets, and the illegally made liquor flows freely. At one time Avilio lived in this district, but after a mafia dispute ended in the murder of his family, he went into hiding. Later, Avilio receives a letter from a mysterious person that ignites his passion for revenge and leads him to return to Lawless. There, he infiltrates the Vanetti family and gets close to Nero.

Similarity – The story of a cold, calculating protagonist’s quest for revenge and all the people caught in his way; both are accompanied by a quieter friend who appears on the surface to be the shy voice of reason. There’s also a fair bit of similarity between the internal family-based strife in both shows, though of course, Zetsuen no Tempest happens in a more fantastical setting and has a magic orientated plot.

8. Durarara!!

Durarara

Synopsis – In Tokyo’s downtown district of Ikebukuro, amidst many strange rumors and warnings of anonymous gangs and dangerous occupants, one urban legend stands out above the rest—the existence of a headless “Black Rider” who is said to be seen driving a jet-black motorcycle through the city streets. Mikado Ryuugamine has always longed for the excitement of the city life, and an invitation from a childhood friend convinces him to move to Tokyo. Witnessing the Black Rider on his first day in the city, his wishes already seem to have been granted. But as supernatural events begin to occur, ordinary citizens like himself, along with Ikebukuro’s most colorful inhabitants, are mixed up in the commotion breaking out in their city.

Similarity – The characters are so close yet so distant in terms of fully understanding each other. They know so much yet so little about each other, slowly you understand each character throughout the anime. Both anime have AMAZING characters and mysterious plots.

7. The Future Diary (Mirai Nikki)

Mirai Nikki (The Future Diary)Synopsis – Lonely high school student, Yukiteru Amano, spends his days writing a diary on his cellphone, while conversing with his two seemingly imaginary friends Deus Ex Machina, who is the god of time and space, and Murmur, the god’s servant. Revealing himself to be an actual entity, Deus grants Yukiteru a “Random Diary,” which shows highly descriptive entries based on the future and forces him into a bloody battle royale with 11 other holders of similarly powerful future diaries.

Similarity – Both really Plot-twisty and exciting to watch. The main girl characters (AIKA, YUNO) have interest personalities and story twist is main revolved around them. The main characters really does not have any special powers whatsoever. Both has questionable moments about what the main conflict is as well as who or what is the antagonist. Both really underrated and overlooked animes.

6. Darker than Black

Darker than Black Kuro no KeiyakushaSynopsis – In Tokyo, an impenetrable field known as “Hell’s Gate” appeared ten years ago. At the same time, psychics who wield paranormal powers at the cost of their conscience also emerged. Hei is one of the most powerful of these psychic agents, and along with his blind associate, Yin, works for one of the many rival agencies vying to unlock the mysteries of Hell’s Gate. From the mind of Tensai Okamura comes a sci-fi thriller taking the form of a subtle exposé on a war in which political positions and justice have no sway—a war waged exclusively in the shadows.

Similarity – A mysterious phenomenon takes place: In DTB is the appearance of Hell´s gate and in ZnT is the Tree of Genesis. A group of people has supernatural powers related to that phenomenon: In DTB are psychics and in ZnT are mages. One of the main girls is able to use powers related to time, while other has a power that can be used for good or evil. Both have complicated dialogues/plot and are by studio BONES. IMO, Znt had more likable and more “human” characters than DTB.

5. Steins Gate

steins gateSynopsis – The self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintarou Okabe rents out a room in a rickety old building in Akihabara, where he indulges himself in his hobby of inventing prospective “future gadgets” with fellow lab members: Mayuri Shiina, his air-headed childhood friend, and Hashida Itaru, a perverted hacker nicknamed “Daru.” The three pass the time by tinkering with their most promising contraption yet, a machine dubbed the “Phone Microwave,” which performs the strange function of morphing bananas into piles of green gel.

Similarity – Both have a cast of strong leads(although Steins;gate gets the edge in character interaction), are thought-provoking with a very intricate and well-thought-out plot, in the middle of which the lives of certain characters are ended, serving as a driving force for others, an overreaching power as a villain which the cast does not know about immediately and oh, both involve time as an important part of the plot.

4. Mawaru Penguindrum

Mawaru PenguindrumSynopsis – For the Takakura family, destiny is an ever-spinning wheel, pointing passionately in their direction with equal tides of joy and sorrow before ticking on to the next wishmaker. With their parents gone, twin brothers Kanba and Shouma live alone with their beloved little sister Himari, whose poor health cannot decline any further. On the day Himari is given permission to temporarily leave the hospital, her brothers take her out to the aquarium to celebrate, where the family’s supposed fate is brought forth with her sudden collapse. However, when Himari is inexplicably revived by a penguin hat from the aquarium’s souvenir shop, the hand of fate continues to tick faithfully forward.

Similarity – Frequent references to literature and classic plays in both, they also both involve a ‘sister’ and two male characters in love with her, and one male character willing to do reckless things for her while the other is level-headed, in one the ‘sister’ is dead already and the other she is almost dead. However Zetsuen no Tempest is a lot easier to understand, it has a clear plot with literature references to accompany the main plot, but in Mawaru Penguindrum literature and play references make up the backbone of the plot and a lot is left up for interpretation

3. Death Note

Death NoteSynopsis – Yagami Light is an ace student with great prospects, who’s bored out of his mind. One day he finds the “Death Note”: a notebook from the realm of the Death Gods, with the power to kill people in any way he desires. With the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create his perfect world, without crime or criminals. However, when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer, and a battle of wits, deception and logic ensues…

Similarity – It’s an original and also deep thinking story where the characters face each other choosing what they consider to be right or wrong, leading to a big development of events. They both are full of very intelligent and hyper-rational characters, fast reasoning, deceits, and deductions. Must watch!

Ten years after the outbreak of the “Apocalypse Virus,” an event solemnly regarded as “Lost Christmas,” the once proud nation has fallen under the rule of the GHQ, an independent military force dedicated to restoring order. Funeral Parlor, a guerilla group led by the infamous Gai Tsutsugami, act as freedom fighters, offering the only resistance to GHQ’s cruel despotism. However, he will soon learn that the truth comes at a far greater price than he could have ever imagined.

Similarity – Zetsuen No Tempest has a similarity when it comes to its action and storyline, both of them has a story in which you are going to press the rewind button in order to attach yourself into the story. However, the idea of the story for both of them is totally different but still, these animes are very good. Highly recommended. Both series the shounen-like supernatural themes involving powers in conflict.

Similarity – These anime are stories that revolve around revenge and destinies. The stories are dramatic and entirely driven by the male leads, Lelouch in Code Geass and Yoshino in ZnT, both of whom are thinkers who can come up with brilliant strategies to overcome even dead-end situations. Both also have a death of a loved one that fuels their motives.
